Float Productions has managed events for BP since our inception in 2008. We have worked for many parts of the Group over the last eight years in the UK, Europe and USA. As part of the design, planning and budgeting of an event, we produce an Event Safety Plan for each project that looks in detail at the operation of each event to ensure the safe operation of all of our teams, of all of those attending and others affected by our projects. Below is a summary of the key projects that we have undertaken.
Float Productions BP Project History
HR Leadership Meetings - Houston, Barcelona & London
Over the past seven years, we have supported the HR function in producing Leadership events in locations in Houston, Barcelona and London. These events have been for 100 / 150 attendees and we have provided all of our usual project management, design, content, technical budget and logistics services. The events and their requirements have evolved over the years and we have played an active role with the HR event team developing each project.
Graduate Orientation - London
Each year, a new graduate intake joins the Group. Float Productions has supported the BP Upstream team for the past six years in running a three day induction programme. This programme offers the attendees an immediate and in-depth view in to the Group and its
structures as the graduates commence their careers with BP.
Group Leader Meetings - Phoenix, Orlando, Dubai
Float Productions has produced each of these events, with a main meeting for 500+ delegates, supported by business group meetings and off-site/on-site dinners and activities. As well as all of the standard event production requirements we produced fold out guides and maps for the delegate to use at numerous locations.
Leadership Meetings- London
Following on from the Group Leader Meetings, we have worked with the Executive Events team to manage an annual Leadership Meeting for the top 120 leaders of the Group. As well as the Group Leadership session, the Upstream and Downstream segments take advantage of the gathering to host side meetings and planning sessions, and Float provide technical and staging support for these meetings too.
Investor Relations Results Announcement - London
The BP Board decided to host the live Q4 Results announcement to the analysts and global audience via a webcast at an external venue as opposed to the SJS Headquarters where the results are usually presented. The event was held at the BP offices in Canary Wharf and the Float design and technical team worked very closely with the BP Canary Wharf team and the Investor Relations team to produce a faultless event and results announcement. Given the business critical nature of the project Float developed a detailed event contingency and fail-over plan. We implemented a series of pre-event rehearsals and key equipment failure tests to prove that our contingencies were effective. This gave the BP Investor Relations Team the confidence they required to execute the event.
The Board took this opportunity to host a series of separate analysts’ briefings and Float also supplied meeting technical equipment, support and staff to facilitate these extra meetings.
Downstream Investor Day – Pangbourne
Float Productions were engaged by the Investor Relations team to support them in developing and implementing the presentation, staging and display showcases for an Investor Day event to be held at the BP Pangbourne Facility. We worked with the team to look at how best to arrange an informative and interesting day for the delegates, drawn from the Group’s key investors. Float were responsible for the design and build of several temporary structures in the grounds housing both vehicle displays and lecture rooms. We developed a circuit tour of the facility, implementing audio visual support at key locations to enhance the visitor experience.
Upstream Investor Day - Sunbury
Building upon the success of the Downstream event, the Investor Relations team asked us to work with them again to develop an Investor day for the Upstream part of the business.
The event was held at the BP Sunbury campus and we utilised a number of the buildings, rooms and laboratories to develop a showcase day, ending with a dinner reception, also held
on campus.
Downstream Leaders Meeting - London
In May of 2015, the Downstream team scheduled a series of planning meetings in central London and asked Float Productions to supply meeting support and infrastructure to help facilitate the sessions.
IT&S Leadership Conference - Boston
The IT&S team held a conference and workshop event in Boston for which Float supplied all meeting design, staging and presentation support. We also worked with the IT&S team and local destination management company to develop a series of off-site dinners and evening events for the 200 delegates that attended over a three day period. Float designed and printed event guides, programmes and giveaway books as well as a series of post event materials that summarised the content and decisions made throughout the conference.
IST Conference - Brighton
The IST team held a three day conference and workshop event in Brighton and Float worked with them and their content delivery team to create a plenary meeting space for 300, as well as seven breakout areas and a gala dinner environment with entertainment. Float managed all of the technical and staging elements as well as the slide and video content that supported each of the plenary and workshop sessions.
Helios Awards - London
Float were selected to produce and manage the technical staging, content and exhibition materials for the 2013 Helios Awards. Float designed the main awards set and specified and supplied all of the technical, audio visual and camera equipment. Working with the company who produced the entrant videos, we created a ‘super-widescreen’ template that showcased slide, animation and video content, creating an impactful and dramatic event. We designed and built a series of exhibition displays to showcase each of the entrants. These were kept lightweight and mobile to enable the displays to be easily rearranged to suit the changing layouts for the evening event and to enable the winners to re-use the displays back at their offices.
